A Summer Thanksgiving

Tea makes me feel like I have more time in the day.  It brings me such a sense of relaxation and focus (maybe thats the caffeine! ).  I have loved this summer, it has been like tea for me - such a great time of reflection on work and a time of great spiritual growth!  I am extremely thankful for the time that I have had and how I was able to spend it. Here's to summer!

A Long Break...

I won't work on catching up on all of the days that I have missed, but I will catch up on some of my favorite topics.

Today is self-portrait, and though it's not exactly a self portrait, it will work for me!

I am borrowing a macro lens to practice taking close-up photos.

Floral Inspiration

Doing two-a-days to catch up on the first six days that I missed! Here is Simplicity:

I really like the close-up, however, I should have straightened out the building in the background.

Next, I have My View, I got inspiration from a picture that I had seen from Pinterest.  This picture was taken at the bougainvillea at USF.

I love touring the USF campus with this guy!

Bokeh

Bokeh is a style of blur in photographs.  It is traditionally Japanese and creates really soft backgrounds for pictures. This picture was taken on USF's campus.

There was a lot of lightening too, so Deniz and I worked to get a picture of lightening.  We traveled to the top of a parking garage.  It took a long exposure and many, many takes to get this shot!

Never Despise Meager Beginnings

Capturing the world through a camera lens has always intrigued me.  As a complete beginner to photography and blogging, this will be new a new and fun way to document my growth!  The main tools that I will be using are a Nikon D3200, and http://photographycourse.net/.

I will also be trying to keep up with this July photo challenge to practice the things that I am learning from the photography course site! I know that July has already begun, but hey, gotta start somewhere!

I am beginning with Day 7 "Imperfect."  I chose this subject because I am thankful for the God who created me and created such a beautiful world that we are able to discover.  I am thankful that He loves me even though I am imperfect.
